In the winter I like to take extra care of my skin and add in a few extra steps to my skincare routine. One step I’ve added to my routine this year is beauty water. Beauty water helps to prep the skin for serum and moisturizer, it lightly cleanses and refreshes the skin, leaving it feeling soft and comfortable.
The first step in my winter skincare routine is to cleanse. I always start with a double cleanse to completely remove any impurities or makeup residue. I begin with The White Company’s new cleansing balm. The balm is a beautiful texture and as it is massaged onto the skin, turns into a smooth oil that melts any makeup away. The second cleanser I use is the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, this cleanser has been irreplaceable in my collection for around a year now and my skin always feels amazing and clear after using it.
I then start off with a spring water by Avene called ‘Eau Thermale’. I then use a second beauty water by Estee Lauder; ‘Micro Essence’ formulated to provide a youthful and angelic glow. I pat this onto clean skin as a prep for my serum and moisturizer.
When it comes to serum, I have one that I always use and love and that is Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair. This serum is my holy-grail product and I use it religiously every morning and night. It works as a lovely skin-prep alongside providing long-term benefits of anti-ageing, skin repair, and hydration whilst preventing fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring. I then follow with a moisturizer, and at the moment I have two favorites I switch between, the first being Chanel’s Hydra Beauty Nutrition cream, and the second; the Clarins Multi-Regenerante Jour Extra-Firming Day cream. I love the Chanel cream as it’s scented with pear and feels absolutely gorgeous on the skin, and I love the Clarins’ day cream due to it’s silky-smooth texture and anti-ageing benefits.
Eye creams and serums I’ve been trying really hard to keep up with applying throughout the winter and I try to use at least one every morning and night. My favorites at the moment are the Clarins’ Extra-Firming Eye Lift Perfecting Serum and Estee Lauder’s Resilience Lift eye cream. Both are work beautifully together at plumping the skin around the eye area and preventing fine lines and wrinkles. I also find that by applying an eye cream prior to my makeup routine, my base appears extra radiant and flawless!
Lastly, I apply my lip care. My favorite products for the lips at the moment are a combination of two gorgeous Dior products. One of which, the lip scrub is a new launch. It is a thin sugar scrub that is applied onto the lips to remove any dry skin and leave it beautifully soft and smooth. I then follow with the Dior lip glow; a lip balm that reacts to the natural ‘PH’ of your lips, leaving them a healthy pink colour.
Occasionally I will apply a face mask (after cleansing and before I begin my skincare routine.) My favorites at the moment are Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Power foil mask and eye masks. Both leave the skin feeling beautiful and give the skin a healthy boost. I will also use a hand cream and body lotion, my personal favorites being the Clarins’ Extra-Firming body Lotion and The White Company’s hand cream in the scent ‘Seychelles’
These are some of my go-to products at this moment in time but I believe my skincare routine will always remain more or less the same, as I feel it is an essential part of my day now and something I always look forward to doing.
